Sampathkumar Mallaya

Chairman and Managing Director

Sampathkumar Mallaya is an accomplished entrepreneur, investor, and business strategist with a diverse and expansive global business portfolio spanning hospitality, flagship restaurants, leisure, petrochemicals, industrial asset management, and oil & gas. With a background in mechanical engineering, he has played a critical role in transforming and optimizing high-value assets across Europe and the UK, collaborating with globally recognized brands such as Jaguar and Nissan.

 

His expertise in asset management has driven successful projects in Spain, Switzerland, and the UK, and he made history as the first Indian-origin owner of a Victorian estate in Kingston upon Thames. His leadership in hospitality and the restaurant sector has been recognized by industry leaders, including British Council delegates and NHS Kingston, for his contributions to business development and community engagement.

 

Beyond his business acumen, Sampathkumar is a dedicated supporter of economic empowerment, particularly among young professionals from Tamil Nadu, India. As a testament to his impact and entrepreneurial success, he has been honored with the Successful Entrepreneur of the Year award by the World Tamil Organisation (UK).

Group chief Executive Officer

Vaidyanathan Nateshan is a distinguished global business leader with over 26 years of experience in driving transformational growth, executing strategic mergers and acquisitions, and leading high-performing teams across multiple industries, including oil & gas, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, and healthcare. As the Group Chief Executive Officer of Samko Holdings, he is responsible for steering the company’s long-term vision, overseeing business expansion, and implementing innovative strategies to enhance operational efficiencies and market leadership.

 

A seasoned expert in financial structuring, stakeholder management, and corporate turnarounds, Nateshan has successfully executed transactions exceeding $500 million across global markets. His career highlights include spearheading large-scale bond issuances, executing high-value M&A transactions, and securing multi-million-dollar fundraisings for energy and industrial projects worldwide. His leadership acumen has played a crucial role in scaling businesses, optimizing financial performance, and positioning companies as industry leaders

Aswini Sampathkumar

Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer

Aswini Sampathkumar brings a distinctive blend of luxury retail expertise, international business management, and brand-led strategy to the Samko Group. She began her career in luxury retail management, building a strong foundation in customer experience, operational excellence, and premium brand positioning, before expanding her professional focus into business management.

She has significant international exposure and is an alumna of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, an academic background that has shaped her global outlook, cultural fluency, and strategic communication skills.

At Samko, Aswini played a pivotal role in conceptualising, setting up, and scaling the Group’s restaurant and F&B businesses from the ground up. She has been instrumental in visualising and executing the Group’s brand positioning, marketing strategy, and customer engagement frameworks, ensuring consistency across concepts while preserving the individuality of each brand.

Currently, she heads the Hospitality and Food & Beverage vertical for the Group, overseeing strategy, operations, brand development, and guest experience across the portfolio. In parallel, she provides strategic advisory support to the Group’s industrial and renewable energy businesses, contributing a consumer-centric, brand-driven perspective to capital-intensive and infrastructure-led sectors.

Aswini is recognised within the Group for her ability to bridge creative vision with commercial discipline, and for building brands and operating platforms that are scalable, resilient, and aligned with long-term value creation.

Veerakumar Krishnasamy

Group Chief Financial Officer

Veerakumar Krishnasamy is a seasoned financial leader with over 15 years of expertise in financial management, compliance, and strategic planning across industries such as hospitality, restaurants, and construction. As the Group Financial Controller at Samko Group of Companies—he oversees financial operations, reporting, and regulatory compliance. A qualified ACCA member with an engineering background, Veerakumar combines technical expertise with financial acumen to drive profitability, ensure compliance, and align financial strategy with long-term business goals.

With a strong track record in financial forecasting, budgeting, risk management, and process optimization, Veerakumar is known for his data-driven approach and ability to lead high-performing teams. His leadership fosters a culture of accountability and precision, ensuring businesses achieve sustainable growth. Proficient in accounting and hospitality management systems, he partners with senior stakeholders to drive informed financial decisions, successfully navigating complex financial challenges and enhancing operational efficiency.
